Everyone tackles their juice cleanse differently. That said, we’re sure we can still contribute with a few tips of our own! For now, we’ll be focusing on a standard 3-day juice cleanse. This is a decent goal to aim for if you’re new to cleanses and have little knowledge of them. You can obviously start a 1-day cleanse first but, again, a 3-day cleanse is a decent target to aim for.
But first thing’s first…
Reflecting on what we said a little earlier, this depends on you. Most take on 3-day juice cleanses to detox or restart their digestive system. Some do it to kick off their weight loss journey. Some also do it to get better-looking skin. There are even some who do it as a personal challenge.
All of the mentioned results can be achieved. It just depends on what juices you drink and how you take on your own cleanse.
You don’t just walk into a gym wearing jeans and a polo and start exercising. You don’t go to school without a pen and paper and expect the teachers to do everything for you. What we’re trying to say is that you can’t just jump into a juice cleanse without having juices.
Set your goals and get the right juices for the job. At Little West, we’ve prepared kits for such occasions. Choose from kits like the Low-Sugar, Glowing Skin, Immune Booster, Deep Detox, Hydration, Anti-Inflammatory, and many more!
If you’re juicing yourself, make sure you have the right mindset and wherewithal to keep it up. There are some common symptoms and side effects that may prevent you from capably juicing everything at home.
We know they sound scary, but they’re part of the process. Think of it this way. If you exercise, you feel tired. If you go on a 3-day cleanse, you can feel tired as well! You may find yourself feeling more irritable, too.
A lot of the side effects like hunger, cravings, and fatigue can be attributed to skipping solid food for the duration of your cleanse. This is more intense hangriness, so to speak.
When are symptoms or side effects considered red flags? That’s up to you. If you feel incredibly faint or if your tummy aches feel so much worse than expected, listen to your body and pull the plug. Stopping a cleanse is easy. No one will think less of you if you do. Remember that!
Tiredness is expected when going on a 3-day cleanse. Again, you’re not eating a thing! Get power naps and a good night’s sleep when you can. No late-night binge-watching of the latest shows! You don’t want to make yourself extra tired.
Getting enough rest is important because you still have your daily tasks to deal with! Some folks power through their cleanse while still working their nine-to-five. You can just imagine how much critical thinking they have to do during this time. That’s why rest is essential.
Going on juice cleanses in no way means you stop drinking water. We know that juices are practically flavored water - especially the immensely hydrating celery juice! But H2O is still as important as ever. It is said that the ideal amount to drink together with the juices on your cleanse is 8 cups.
Remember to space out your juice drinking throughout the day. Don’t just gulp them down in one or two sittings. The best thing about juices is that they’re so convenient. You can have them at predetermined times so that you won’t feel as hungry on your cleanse. Plan them out!
Let’s give you a little scenario. You’re at work, on a cleanse, and your boss orders you to grab those boxes of product and stock up the shelves. That can be tiring work! You grab your next juice and finish it off in a matter of seconds…. But you’re feeling hungry - hungrier than you’ve felt in a long time!
Eat if you must. Some fruits, a little veg, or maybe a handful of nuts are more than ok to stave off hunger. Small portions are ideal because they won’t mess up any progress you’ve made during your cleanse. Don’t worry. Eating a little won’t hurt anyone!
Little West is here for you. If you’re planning on going on a cleanse, skip all the added stress and simply select one of our kits!
